Florida Tech FIlm Society: Fall 2008!
Hello Everyone!

Welcome back. I hope you all had enjoyable summers!

Once again it's very close to the start of our Friday Night Films. Hopefully we'll be able to start on September 5 this year. Just to give you a taste of what Aaron and I have been thinking about, here are some of the titles we are considering for this year:
"The Fall" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460791/
"Yojimbo" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055630/
"I <3 Huckabees" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0356721/
"The Darjeeling Limited" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0838221/

In addition to this tidbit of information, we are also looking for people (students here at FIT) who would like to take an active role in choosing the films we play and how we show them. Basically, Aaron and I aren't going to be around forever and we would like to find some people that love film just as much as we do and would be willing to spend a couple hours every week working on film society. We would start this semester out with simple training, where we so any interested parties the ropes to the non-theatrical film booking side of life. By next semester, they will know exactly what to do and should be able to carry on the club without us.

If you find this interesting, we are holding a meeting this Tuesday, August 26 at 6:00pm in the Link room of the library to discuss such matters. For those of you new to FIT, you can find the Link room by going up the stairs in the library to the second floor and taking a right. Directly in front of you down some way you should see a door with a large plaque mounted next to it labeled "Link Room." If you have trouble finding us, just ask a library assistant.

I hope to see a few of you Tuesday night and, for the rest of you, I'll see you at our first film!
